[comp.sys.ibm.pc] PC game port programming ?

dan@rna.UUCP (Dan Ts'o) (03/13/90)

Can someone email a short, but adequate, programming description
of a PC game port ? Thanks.
One basic question: can the game port be used as a simple 8-bit
parallel input port ?

Check out the Shareware disk called The Home Control Primer. It has 3
programs related to home automation, one which is called GAMEPORT.EXE.

With GAMEPORT you can measure light and temperature sensitivity as well as
4 digital inputs. Good documentation is supplied.

The Home Control Primer is available from many shareware distributors and
user groups across the country. Try:

Velvet Software 203-923-3311
Micro Technology 609-426-0506
Winner's Edge 801-825-4229
Gofer Software 304-485-4292
