I am sure most people have heard about the new laserjet. I don't intend that this become a commercial for HP, but I am interested in anyone's experiences (albiet short) with the new printer. A few of the things I have found out: -1 meg is standard -uses the same memory boards as the IIP -Pacific Data Products IIP boards will not be compatible unless shipped after Mar 31 (I called PDP, because I wanted to find out if we could use them) -Has font scaling -Smooths curves -Bitstream's fonts will work as far as the III is compatible with the II, I had a real hard time understanding the person there, so I think they will work the same way they do on the other lasers. If my wording is imprecise, you'll have to excuse me I am not interested in typography. Jeers to Digital Review and other magazines that don't publish a company's 800 number for us lazy type who don't want to have to call 800-info. -- John F. I have seen it and am quite impressed with its capabilities to process HPGL2 data as if it was a plotter! It also automatically fills in jaggged edges in normal 300 DPI resolution with dots smaller than 300 DPI, enabling it to use existing software but achieve better than 300 DPI resolution. They also upped the speed of the internal 68000 (?) processor from 8 MHz to 10Mhz.
