[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Hard disk for the Amstrad portable computer, PPC640-2

brand@janus.Berkeley.EDU (Graham Brand) (03/14/90)

Hello there,

A friend of mine has an Amstrad portable - the model PPC640-2
with two 3 1/2" floppy drives. He would like to add a hard disk to this,
preferably an external one since I don't think the physical arrangement
will allow an internal drive. Can someone recommend a good supplier?

Cheers,
-Graham Brand

I have one of these beasties at work. We never bought a hard disk for it,
after all, if I have to lug the PC, briefcase, and suitcase on a trip, I
don't want to lug the hard disk case too. I did investigate and it seems
the best place to get a HD is from Amstrad directly (well actually, from
a local distributer). Call Amstrad (RTFM) and ask. If you don't have
manuals with addresses and/or phone numbers, I might be persuaded to try
to find our manuals and look it up. (please E-mail)
