[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Help Wanted: Chip Info, again

lance@helios.ucsc.edu (Lance Bresee) (03/15/90)

I have gotten so much helpful info on chips.
Thanx muchly to all!!!!!!

I have another chip which I cannot find docs on.
It is on a clock card, which will not be recognized
by any clock software I have.
I need chip pinouts to decode the addresses which access
the chip...hard to do when you don't know what
is the chip select pin.
The chip has the number HD146818p
is 24 pin dip,
and bears a HITACHI logo.
The decode is via a pal, so I need to put signals on
the address lines and examine the status of the chip
select pins. Also, I need to know what registers hold
which info. Four address lines connect directly to
the chip, so I suspect that there are 16 internal
registers, or 8, with one address line connected
directly to a chip select line. All *8 data lines
are buffered out, so suspect 8 bit data.

ALSO also, Someone recently posted a missive
about an alternative version of TIMER.COM.
Foolishly, I did not save it. Could the poster
of that missive tell me where I can get this
improved version of TIMER, to see if the card
responds to this?

Thanx Muchly!!!!!
