[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Hard drive for 30-286?

The model 30-286 hard drive is not a regular MFM or RLL drive.
Instead, the controller for the drive is located on the drive itself.
(Or at least part of it, I'm not really sure. I am sure that it is
an IDE drive, I opened one today.)
It is an IDE drive, as I stated before. I am uncertain whether it is the
AT or XT type of IDE drive (yes, there is a difference.)
Since there are only two drive bays on the 30/286, a hard card is probably
the best way to go. An external enclosure will work, but you'll have to use
a slot anyway. I would also imagine the external enclosure would be a
bit more expensive.
