[comp.sys.ibm.pc] comp.binaries.ibm.pc archive wanted

lmb@vicom.com (Larry Blair) (03/16/90)

Are there any sites archiving comp.binaries.ibm.pc? I'd particularly
prefer sites with TB's near the bay area.

Please respond via email. It's not that I don't read this group, it's
just that there are so many postings that I might miss a response.

Thanks.

Grape is a comp.binaries.ibm.pc archive site:

Clarkson's personal computer program will be featured on a half-hour
long segment of the "Computer Chronicles" show, which airs on PBS
stations nationally. The program will be broadcast during the first
week in April. The time will vary from station to station. Check
your local PBS listing for the date and time that the program will be
broadcast in your area.

Grape.ecs.clarkson.edu is a Zenith Z-248 running MS-DOS. We use a
modified version of KA9Q's TCP/IP NET that allows you to shell out to
COMMAND.COM while still processing packets. Grape is attached to the
Internet using a NI6510 Ethernet card donated by Racal Interlan for
that purpose. After shelling to DOS, we run an Opus BBS. The
particulars:

Almost all files are stored in .ZIP format. A .ZIP file contains a group
of files that have been compressed to save space. You need an unzipper
to access these files. Either PKzip102 or dezip20 will suffice.

A catalog of all files on grape is in /d/general/catalog.zip.

ZIP: Version 1.01+ required. Versions 0.90 and 0.92 do NOT work.
FTP: grape.ecs.clarkson.edu [128.153.13.196], any username&&password will work.
