Recently a friend of mine acquired a PC Jr.(used of course, but barely). He bought it for a song. He is sort of new to the world of computing. (He also owns a Mac), but he would really like to know what, if any, types of hard drives are available for it, and what the price range might be. I really know nothing about the Jr., and any input from some of you knowledgeable types out in netland would be greatly appreciated. Is there a reliable source, aside from SIGs where any or all technical questions could be answered? Did I come to the right place? Jeff

There is a wonderful supplier for the PCjr that is surprisingly still in business... They recently introduced a SCSI Hard drive package for a reasonable amount. The company is: PC Enterprises P.O. Box 292 Belmar, NJ 07719 (800) 922-PCJR I have purchased a second 360K disk drive from them and a Mouse system. I have also purchased an old "original IBM" cartridge basic from them. I use my PCjr at home for just some general purpose play. I couldn't beat the price of $300 for a full color system... with 640k. PC Enterprises will answer technical questions, but prefer to sell equipment. My opionions are my own -- "I'm soo confused" --

I really there are three companies that deal in PCjr equipment. Paul Rau consulting PC Enterprises and Computer Reset the only phone number I know off hand is that of PC Enterprises, which is 1-800-IBM-PCJR. Grab a Computer Shopper and look in the little ads at the end, they adventise there. -- Mike J | The Grey Sysop... | Phone...RING!...yep yep yep yep yep! |
