Hello, I am having the following problem with my harddisk....I hope someone out there can help. The problem is that I sometimes get read errors on my hard disk. I have the problem with all of my software but not with any consistancy. I can however cause the error 100% of the time by doing the following: 1) add the line "DEVICE = QEMM.SYS RAM" to my config.sys 2) loading my logitec mouse driver (Version 4.0) ... the mouse is a bus mouse 3) moving the mouse around while performing a long read. (ex. copying a BIG file) after typing copy c:\foo.txt c:\bar.txt I move the mouse and BOOM, the drive light burns steadily and I get the error. The drive is an IDE drive made by Western Digital. The machine is and 386sx with VGA, and 2 meg RAM. Things I've tried: I tried the test without the QEMM.SYS and it will not fail 100% of the time, but still fails while running other software. I also tried the test outlined above on a 386SX, with a different mother board, different BIOS, and different VGA card, and it too failed. The only major components it shared were the same type of mouse, and the same type of hard disk. I will be happy to provide more information to any one who thinks they can help. Thanks...............Larry =============================================================================== Larry G.
