I do some work for a department here in UCD which have a new LAN running Novell Netware 2.15, and one of the machines is a Phillips (I forget the number) 8088 with 768k ram - it says - and a CD-ROM drive. Problem: It uses 2 drivers for the CD-ROM - CM153 and HS153 .SYS which are of course in CONFIG.SYS - it then runs MSCDEX in the AUTOEXEC (MS-DOS CD Extensions - treats the CD as a Disc Drive), and this is fine most of the time, but for some CD apps, a warmboot must be done to clear the drivers and put new ones in. Also, once the Novell drivers are in, the is very little ram left, so most of the apps on the fileserver won't run... I can see two poss ways out of this - 1: remove the drivers selectively, and reinstall them, 2: use the extra 128k of memory in the Phillips to store the extra drivers - it's at A000-B000... Does anyone have any exp. of deinstalling Novell drivers, or any others for that matter ?
