[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Will send PKZip 1.10

troj@icon.weeg.uiowa.edu (Kevin Trojanowski) (03/30/90)

I am willing to send, via US-MAIL, a copy of PK-Zip 1.10 to anyone interested
obtaining it without calling the PKWare BBS. The copy I have was downloaded
directly from the BBS two nights ago, and will be sent in the original archive,
which includes a new PKZip feature to verify data integrity.

For me to mail you a copy, I request three things:

1) A disk to place the software on (360K, 720K, 1.2Meg, 1.44Meg all okay)
2) The disk must be sent in a mailer which I can reuse to send the disk back
3) Sufficient postage (in the mailer), or sufficient money (I'd assume $.50)
for me to mail the disk back to you. Postage is preferred to money.

Also, please give me an Internet/Bitnet address, so I can send you mail letting
you know your disk is on its way.

If you would like me to do this, please send the aformentioned items to:

As I stated before, this is a copy of PKZip downloaded directly from the PKWare
BBS. Phil Katz has included a new feature in PKZip which allows corporate
registration of the software, which allows inclusion of the corporate serial
number within an archive, to allow verification of data integrity. Simply put,
it prevents someone from repacking an archive with a virus, etc -- the repacked
archive will not contain the serial number.
