[net.movies] SF on TV

Poskanzer.PA@PARC-MAXC.ARPA (05/03/83)

If you want to see some good television SF, check out "The Questor
Tapes". It is being aired in the Bay Area this Saturday night at 11:30
on channel 2. Like "V", it was a pilot for a series. Unlike "V" (I
predict), it was not picked up. Also unlike "V", it had an original,
interesting plot, realistic science, and some interesting characters.
I'm not saying it was perfect - the plot, though original and
interesting, had just a touch of the juvenile, and most of the
characters were cardboard. (One was supposed to be cardboard! That was
a nice switch.)

But it was sure better than V.

The Questor Tapes is a great movie. It was written and produced by
Gene Roddenberry (of Star Trek fame, for those who might have forgoten).
Compared to most of his other post-Star Trek efforts, it actually has a
plot and real characters.
