Saw Dr. Detroit the other night and you have to be a big fan of Dan Akoroyd, and Howard Hesseman and/or James Brown to enjoy it. There are some pretty funny lines and Akoroyd ( however it is spelled ) plays all the different parts well, but the movie spends a lot of time trying to convince you it is legitimate. During these long spells, a funnier actor is needed, one who makes you laugh when you look at him, like Steve Martin or Bill Murray or even Marty Allen. So be warned, but see it if you are a sick puppy who lives for sex, drugs and rock and roll, or if you have nothing better to do.....
