I'm having real problems getting a SoundBlaster board to produce speech from my Multi-media Comptons. I asked this question here a while ago, and had only one response. Clearly I'm missing a device driver and it was too optimistic of me to assume the Creative Arts would supply one, which they could only do if there was some agreed standard regarding speech generation. So I now assume that all sound cards require specific support, and my next question has to be; does anyone out there have a speech device driver which will work with a SoundBlaster? You know, something I can add to my config.sys file. Is this too optimistic a request? I'm still interested in a reply to a request I made earlier for details of DRAM compatibility. Precise: can I plug 11000 series DRAM into a board designed to take 41000 series DRAM? Ditto, 88256 and 44256. Thanks, Steven. .
