  I wonder if such a pristine communications enviornment is what it's 
really like working with computers and or what ever the topic may be.
In real life people useing computers get frustrated and sometimes 
express this as flames. So what, I have been guilty of it myself. Alot
of times others can realize this and give the sopport or help that's 
needed. In other words the signal was in the noise you just didn't see
it. Another aspect about the Usenet compared to CIS is that some day those
users that couldn't afford the cost of CIS may indeed be one of your
potential customers. Sure you can sell on 'want' and 'politeness' but
be prepared for the other half of the customers personality when something
goes wrong.  I often wonder why so many large companies have usenet feeds
and put up the costs.
