I am trying to expand the disk capacity of a IBM PC/AT that is running SCO XENIX V.2, when I try to install the O.S., I get many errors during the disk init phase. I have tried many parameters to the diskinit program, but none seem to work. The controller has on board BIOS, so I assume that I don't need ROM chips to get the thing to work. When I received the disk from the dealer, with the controller, he said that he had done the lowlevel format. The disk documentation says that the disk has 1250 Cylinders, 7 heads. The dealer said that I should enter in 1023/7 with 34 sectors per track and that the controller would `translate'. Could someone explain what is happening? Do I need a new diskinit program from SCO? I should mention that I am not very familiar with the PC world and could be doing stupid things...
