I too was confused by mixed reviews for Valley Girl, so I took a chance and saw it. it's a pretty shallow and harmless flick, and I would recommend it only after you've run out of any better movies to see: it's about as much fun as your average TV sitcom...i think the "good" reviews it got were due to a reaction by the reviewers when they did NOT get a "teenage sex movie" a la Porky's; they were so pleasantly surprised they were kind in their reviews rating: 1 1/2 stars. alexis
