Uhmmm, interesting. I wasn't aware of this. I know that the WD7000 uses a different translation mode than the 154xA, but does it really store data in a non-standard way? NCR chose the WD 7000 FAST controller as there AT bus SCSI adapter. What I heard from one of the engineers was that CD used a partitioning scheme that permitted a file to spill over from one partition to the next transparently. In any event, I thought a SCSI drive I received had no data on it when I was unable to get anything from it using an Adaptec 1542 controller. I had to switch to a WD 7000 and use the OS/2 driver to retrieve the data (the WD dos driver couldn't read the disk either). -- Phone: (home) 219-482-9631 E-mail: feustel@well.sf.ca.us {ucbvax, apple, hplabs, pacbell}!well!feustel USMAIL: Dave Feustel, 1930 Curdes Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805
