Hi anybody, Have any experience with the SyQuest 44 MB removable hard drive ? Lately, the price seems to have come down a fair bit ($599 for a drive with one catridge and a Seagate SCSI controller; additional catridge at $85 each), so I am considering buying one again. I personally have never seen one working in a PC. Has anyone have any experience with it working ? Is the SCSI controller standard and does it work in a 386 system which already have an ESDI drive ? To be precise, my system has a DTC-6280 controller with a Micropolis 1355 hard disk. I heard some time ago that someone had the drive hooked up to a standard SCSI controller running XENIX and it works perfectly. I am just wondering if the bundled controller will work equally well ? (* By the way, can that person please post his experience again ? I seem to have lost the info after a few months :-) *) Under DOS, can FASTBACK use the SyQuest drive (via. the device driver) as a backup media (I'm just getting tired of shuffling floopies doing backup :-( ) ? Anybody has any success with this ? ... and can I get hold of technical info to write device drivers for the drive if I have to ? ... and how reliable are these drives ? Any info (or pointer to more info) is much appreciated. You can either e-mail to me or reply to this news (notes ?) message. Regards, ## Life is fast enough as it is ........ Peter Lim. ## ....
