I saw Blue Thunder Friday, April 29. I liked it. Lots of action. Lots of helicopter flying. The preface says that the weapons currently exist. It makes you wonder. The story revolves around a police officer and an Army officer who have different views about the public's knowledge of the weapon. Rob Wood (decvax!genrad!rob)

I just got back from seeing Blue Thunder. This is probably the most exciting (edge of the seat, sweaty palms rapid heart beat etc.) film I have ever seen. The plot is thin and the film is full of implausibilities but Roy Scheider's performance and the helicopter flying make you ignore the implausibilities even as you recognise them. The first third of the film is a tad slow in parts but once the action starts it is superb. The helicopter flying is truly amazing. It is just like the famous scene at the end of Star Wars where the rebels are bombing the Battle Station, except that these are REAL helicopters flying between real buildings and under real bridges. I am going to see RotJ tomorrow night so I will be able to good comparison of the relative excitement of the 2 films. Watch this space. In the meantime go and see Blue Thunder.
