Hello! I will be involved in a development of a database retrieval system to be implemented on a PC LAN (exact network has not been selected yet). We'll start with about 20 workstations, and we may expand to as many as 60 in the future. Since development speed is of utmost importance, I'm planning on using a database development package (I'd rather use C, but neither the application nor the time constraint will allow me to do so). I'm currently considering Clarion or FoxBase LAN, but am open to other suggestions. The application is a standard client database access system, with extensive reporting and sorting done only on the server PC. All the other stations will simply inquire/update a limited number of records at one time. I would like recommendations, especially from you folks who have done this type of thing before. End-product performance is important (esp. with as many as 60 workstations planned), but ease and power of programming is just as important. I'll summarize the responses if there's interest. Thanks very much in advance! -- Nobuya "Higgy" Higashiyama UUCP: ...!uccba!mead!nxh Data Integrity Systems Internet: mead!nxh@uccba.uc.edu Mead Data Central USnail: PO Box 933 Dayton, OH Dayton, OH 45401
