Does anybody know of a good screen saver that will work with ANY video
configuration/card?

Desqview (a program from Quarterdeck) is a pretty good screen saver. I think
it has problems with Hercules cards, but works pretty well on all the
standard IBM monitors. It can also do multi-tasking; I'm not sure if this
feature can be disabled if all you need is the screen saver.

Contrary to its name, VGA Dimmer is a screen saver that works well
on EGA, CGA, and Hercules. It costs a little less than Desqview, but
its multitasking features default to permanently disabled.

Can anyone recommend some utility programs (especially shareware ones)
which include screen-saver types of devices? And is it true that most
modern short-phosphor CRT's just don't suffer from burn out anyway?

Thanks.
