Unfortunately, I have YET to get on to SIMTEL20 :-( Is there another source on Internet that I can use? I know of a couple -- wuarchive.wustl.edu grape.ecs.clarkson.edu terminator.cc.umich.edu but I haven't seen a pc tar package (unless I'm looking in the wrong places!) Thanks for any info. $ wuarchive.wustl.edu
That one I'm quite familiar with. It contains a mirror of the Simtel20
archives in the /mirrors/msdos directory tree. For example, on Simtel
you'd CD to the pd1:<msdos.filutl> directory and grab pax2exe.zip, while on
wuarchive you'd CD to the /mirrors/msdos/filutl directory and grab
pax2exe.zip.

If you want a network-capable TAR, I know of two. Ours is part of the basic PC/TCP package, and also works on local TAR files on the PC's disk. Sun's is part of their "lifeline" add-on, and I don't know if it works on local files. Neither of us has done a CPIO, but I think MKS has one. -- James B.
