Typically I do not attend movies like these two,
but I was bored and my wife had something else to do, so I went.
What a mistake! I was no less bored when I left than when I went in.
Pink Motel only has about 6 sets, the outside of the motel,
the front desk(which extend into the owner's living quarters)
and four motel rooms. The film attempts to gain a measure of respectability
by having Phyllis Diller and Slim Pickens as the motel owners, but it merely
made me wonder why they would accept roles in a movie like this.
It was interesting to see Phyllis Diller's arms exposed indicating
how far her body had deteriorated while her face remains ever the same
through the miracle of multiple face lifts. The plot (used in the loosest
sense of the word) revolves around 5 couples who arrive at the motel for sex.
Two of the couples end up in the same room (thus the need for only 4 rooms).
Although they arrive for sex, they do practically nothing but talk once
they get there. With about two minutes worth of editing, this movie
could be four of the dullest episodes of Love, American Style ever made.

Chained Heat was exactly what you would guess it would be from the
posted advertisements. It starred Linda Blair (the little girl from
The Exorcist who looks like she spent the last couple of years eating,
since she obviously hasn't been and won't be making too many movies)
as an inmate in a women's prison where the usual tales
of drugs, corrupt prison officials attacking the girls,
the women attacking each other, etc. all fall together in a sort of
potpourri of degraded movie making.
This contained a fair amount of nudity and violence, which I don't
necessarily object to, but the story behind this movie has been made
dozens of times when there was no need for it to be made once.
