Not only is Quarterdeck's technical support line poor (I've never been
able to get through), their mail support and upgrade notification is also
inadequate. I had written a letter to Quarterdeck describing a number of
technical problems that I was experiencing with DESQview 386 V1.0 back in
January. In the same letter, I asked about any upgrades that might solve
the problems that I was having. After not receiving any reply from
Quarterdeck, I sent them email in February. My message invoked a reply
indicating that my "letter was found" and that a written reply would be
forthcoming. This reply was finally received in early March! Unfortunately,
none of my problems were solved by the reply.

To really top the list, I finally received my upgrade notice in the mail
on May 7, 1990, five months after inquiring about an upgrade. In addition,
this was well past the deadline of March 31, 1990 to receive a free copy
of Manifest with my upgrade. I have sent in my upgrade request with an
accompanying letter describing the circumstances. It will be interesting
to see how long it takes before I receive my upgrade and how Quarterdeck
responds.

Overall, although DESQview is a great product, I would probably open my
wallet and install UN*X on my machine if I had to do it over again. The
lack of support and the inability to reach the manufacturer has me
completely frustrated.
