I saw Psycho II yesterday and rate it overall fair to good. Definitely worth a matinee price ($2-3), maybe worth $4.50. It starts out rather slowly for about the first third to half of the movie. However, after that, the pace quickens up a bit as more people drop by the wayside. I found it quite easy, almost disappointingly easy, to figure out who the antagonist was. However, the ease was countered by the amount of hate you can feel for this antagonist. If you love hating villains, see this movie. Also, there is a final plot twist in the end as we find out that this truly despicable person is not the real murderer/ess, and that also helps to make up for the ease of unraveling the mystery. The final question: Is Norman Bates really cured; is he sane; or is he still sick? Hard to say. I don't think I could answer it if I wanted to. It's difficult to figure out if he's really sick at points or if he's just acting that way to find out just who is being mean to him. In that, they left in a good loophole for the making of Psycho III.
