Hi, I am having some trouble installing a Micropolis 1558 ESDI drive and a WD1007V-SE2 ESDI controller. I don't have the manual for ether the drive or the controller. I managed to low level format the drive using to WD bios at CC00:5. One question I was not sure about was about enableing alternate sectoring. What is alternate sectoring, and should I anable this option? The main problem I have is that I am not sure what drive type to put in my CMOS setup. When I let the WD bios program set the drive type, it always sets it up as drive type 1. Does the controller emulate the micopolis drive as drive type 1? Then with dos 3.3, I tried to do FDISK, and I kept getting a devide by zero error while FDISK is loading, everytime. The disk actually has 1222 tracks 15 heads and 36 sectors per track. So I tried entering these values in my CMOS setup. Now fdisk will load correctly, but it will hang when I go to create the first partition. I also tried entering only 1023 tracks, and FDISK sill won't run. What am I doing wrong? Can I use *any* of this disk with dos 3.3, or do I have to go to dos 4.01. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in adavance! John
