I think SmarTerm 240 may be what you're looking for. (They also have a SmarTerm 320 now, I think.) It emulates a VT240/VT241 and does 132 columns. I'm currently using st240, and it does a good job on the 132 column thing and does it a couple of different ways. That's the only reason I'm using it though, as I prefer procomm plus otherwise. You might check out ZSTEM220 from KEA Systems in Canada. It works well, handles 132 column mode in several ways, depending on your hardware, and comes with both character-based and graphic versions. List price is $150. I use it at work on a PC. With an enhanced keyboard, it does a good job. Be warned, though, that this program has one of the worst manuals in the world. It's cryptic, not well organized, and has few examples of how to make use of ZSTEM220's powerful features. It also runs poorly under Desqview. In case anybody didn't notice I was pleaently suprised one day when I used my VGA (orchid) in a alternate text mode, being 132X44, and found out that bith Qmodem and Telix conformed to the display width automatically, kind of nice. Since then I don't use these modes much but of all the modes that I have they all work. BTW I noticed that some ANSI drivers tend to corrupt the display so I keep ansi off using a PCMag progam called ANSI to install and deinstall ANSI as needed. So, try puting your card in and extended mode and running your modem program. -- ..Mike Figueroa.......................... _______________________ . 6600phnx@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu (Internet) . / // / . @ucsbuxa.bitnet (Bitnet) . /---- // / __ ......................................... / // / / "And Then There Were None . . ." / ------ ------
