I just got REMAC from the terminator.cc.umich.edu archives and have played around with it for a while. It's very interesting and all, and I found a lot of interesting files in /atari/sound/sounds, but it would be nice if there was a way to edit the soundfiles. Modify them, copy portions of the file around, delete portions, paste different soundfiles (with different sampling rates) together, etc. I saw something similar to this at a NeXT demo, but it would be nice to have for the Mac soundfiles... And another question: Is there any way to figure out what sampling rate the file is encoded at, without trying it at different rates and picking the one that "sounds right"? Is there a way to select a sampling rate different than the four choices provided (i.e., the janet[1-8].snd files in /atari/sound/sounds/janet.arc are sampled at 9500Hz, but REMAC only supplies 7333 and 11000)? -- Marc Unangst | "It is dangerous to be right when Internet: mju@mudos.ann-arbor.mi.us | the government is wrong."
