[comp.sys.ibm.pc] AT&T 6300 PC REAL TIME CLOCK PROBLEM

laviole@acsu.buffalo.edu (kerry d laviolette) (06/01/90)

Forgive me if this is accidentally double posted.
I have an AT&T 6300 PC in the laboratory where I work
on power up the diagnostics indicate there is a "functioning"
real time clock present. However after setting the date and
time with the DOS commands, the next boot will redefault these
values to time 00:00:00 and date Jan 1, 1980. I have look at
the motherboard and tested the battery and it has the corret
voltage level. Can anyone please help me understand this
problem and possibly fix it. In the meantime I am using
the brute force method of entering the date and time on
each boot.

Please E-Mail any comments instead of posting them.

Thanks for any cooperation.
