[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Query- replacement keyboard for original IBM-PC

bic@cgl.ucsf.edu (Bruce Cohen) (06/01/90)

I have been offered an original IBM-PC (5150?) cpu box. I will have to
add a monitor and card, as well as a keyboard to see if it works. Will
any "IBM compatible" keyboard work with this original machine? How
much should I expect to pay for something that will work?

Thanks.

Depending on the configuration, you can buy a new XT clone
for $400 to $1000. The video card, monitor and keyboard will
cost you at least $150. More like $300 for a decent video system.
Personally I would not pay more than $200
unless the system has at least a 20MB hard disk.
