Hi All, I installed Windows for yukks last night. I have a modem in my machine that lives and breathes COM3. I tried to use the Windows terminal emulator, and the port choices are None (whatever that means), COM1 and COM2. I tried to make it use COM3 somehow, and it complained that COM3 was reserved to some windows application. Anyone know how I can use the terminal with COM3, or should I stick with DESQview? BTW, are there any Windows 3.0 *and* 4DOS users out there? I had 4DOS set up as my primary command interpreter, which also defines itself as the secondary command interpreter. When I tried to shell to DOS in Windows, I got COMMAND.COM. Yuckk again. Any way around *this*? Seems the more things I have to find a way around, the more I like DESQview. Windows is a memory and a disk pig. But the graphics are neat! I was even able to start Windows (I supposed in Real mode) under DESQview. I wonder if I can start DESQview under windows? Maybe Sam Shin and I should start a DESQview-lovers club. thanks...jim =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "The opinions expressed here in no way represent the views of Digital Equipment Corporation."
