I still use the 9600 version in my home machine, and can happily recommend it. The TSR really doesn't interfere - just as advertised. It will receive in the background while you're busy doing almost anything. I have found no conflicts other than the documented incompatibility with Windows, which I don't run, and an occasional difficulty with the application capture of MS Word. The current software (available for download from the HAYES bbs at 1-800-USHAYES takes about 127K. The strength of the machine based fax is the disk space you have for stuff incoming, and the application capture. The weakness is that you must scan documents, ergo scanner is needed. Resolution at the receiving end is superior to standalone fax machines, speed tends to be slower. Hope this helps somewhat. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don O'Shaughnessy | Public Affairs Services, Toronto CAN ...!uunet!attcan!telly!moore!eastern | V: 1 416 348 8713 F: 1 416 348 8725 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone out there have any experience with the JT FAX 9600 board from Hayes (used to be sold by Quadram)? I was wondering how well it ran in TSR mode. How much RAM does it take up? I'd appreciate any info you might have on this board..
