[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Wanted: Logo

mintz@hpindda.HP.COM (Ken Mintz) (04/09/88)

Is there a Logo (or LogoWriter) available for the AT, preferrably one
that takes advantage of EGA?

One local SW store says that Terapin does not market Logo for the IBM.
But I had a program called Dr. Logo for my PC.

Does anyone know the phone number for Terapin? If it was absorbed into
another company, do you know its name and phone number?

Does anyone know the name and phone number of the company that markets
LogoWriter on the Apple IIgs?

Thanks in advance.

If anyone is interested, I managed to track down LogoWriter (nee
MS Logo). Microsoft discontinued their product and licensed it to a
company called Logo Computer Systems (800-321-5646).

Their LogoWriter is the same that runs on the Apple II at my daughter's
school, according to the LCS support person. The current version is
CGA-compatible and sells for $129. It is orderable directly from LCS.

They are currently developing an EGA-compatible version which they expect
to release in the summer.

A friend of mine has an 8 year-old daughter that he would like
to have learn a computer language during her summer vacation. Does
anyone out there in netland know of any books for children in closer
to state-of-the-art languages (ie., not BASIC, or Pascal).
Also, a program for the PC (386) would be nice. The best we
could come up with is the old standby of Logo. So I would also like
some leads (source, preferable) for logo (with fairly good
documentation).

Thanx in advance.

I bought PC Logo by Harvard Associates. It's pretty good. It's
designed to run on very low end machines. Wich is all you find in most
schools, I'm afraid.

I got it from The Programmer's Shop, the place I seem to buy most of
my tools. You can get to them at 800-421-8006.
