Anyone notice that Lightman made the reservation to Paris in the girl's name (you could see it on the screen, near the top left)? How come the FBI were asking HIM who HE was going to Paris with? Nitpicking aside, I thought the movie was great. Given what I'd read about it on the net, I expected it to be a lot less believable. It still stretched things somewhat, but the story developed and carried well. Dave Sherman Toronto

Lightman was suspected of spying for the Soviets, so they may have assumed that the reservation listed was an alias. One may interpret the question posed as, "We know you made a reservation for a young lady, but what is the name of the REAL person with whom you are going."

If the FBI could find Lightman, they could certainly have found the girl when her name was put on the reservation. How was the reservation tracked to Lightman anyway? The FBI weren't on to him at that point. Dave Sherman

Perhaps they traced the call when he made the reservation. What I would like to know is: I believe they said that the computer could only fire missles when the system was at '1'. It appeared that the level was manually controlled, so if they didn't want the computer starting WW 3, couldn't they have just gone to level 2-5 ? brushing up on my tic-tac-toe, Dave Seifert ihnp4!ihuxl!seifert
