In France, they list two starting times for the movies: a sitting and then a show time. Many people (me included) went specially to catch the ads before the film. Some of the ads were really great; new-wave cinema in 60 seconds. Of course, there were clinkers too; the worst of which seemed to be the ads for upcoming movies! david "if the ads ever get that good I'll watch TV again" wallace

In Israel also they show commercails before the movies. Some of them were pretty funny. Most were of about the same quality as American TV commercials, although many were not as good. There are no commercials on Israeli television, since the tv station (only one) is owned by the government. Another thing they do there w/movies which I hated was that they edit movies which are "too long". ALL the movies showings start at the same times. Apparently they shorten movies so that one can see more than one movie in a night if one wishes. I'd rather see all of one movie than pieces of two movies, though. -- Arnold Robbins Arnold @ GATech (CS Net) Arnold.GATech @ UDel-Relay (ARPA) ...!{sb1, allegra}!gatech!arnold (uucp) ...!decvax!cornell!allegra!gatech!arnold
