I just bought an Irwin tape drive and would like to dump whole partitions of my hard disk to tape. I want the software to this dump blindly, in other words, not be file system smart. I sometimes run DOS and other times run Unix but do not have a disc big enough for both. So I plan to define a partition that is the same size for either and effectively use the tape drive to swap them. Are there any utilities that will allow this type of backup? If not, is there some programming documentation for the tape drive that will allow me to write my own? Thanks, Eric Ross ericr@vcd.hp.com
