In 588062 Rick Engelhardt wirtes: "We are experiencing an unusually high number of problems with diskette damage in conjunction with the use of IBM model 30-286s...." I would like to report that I am having the same problem in conjunction with my Compaq SLT286. Quite often the diskettes become unreadable. Sometimes they become readable again after a few hours!!! Formatting the diskette again solves the problem, but, of course, data is lost. I shall appreciate it very much if anyone can suggest what is the source of the problem. I tried to format the diskettes by several methods (DOS, NORTNON, PCTOOLS) but nothing proved reliable. Michael Maschler
