I'm giving strong consideration to upgrading the motherboard on a NEC 386/20 to something more powerful and flexible in handling memory upgrades. Compatibility and quality are the chief criteria. I'm would expect that the "name" boards should do what they promise. Of particular interest: 1) compatibility, quality or reliability experiences that did not meet expectations; 2) comparisons, where you've worked with more than one brand; 3) suppliers to be recommended or avoided. Am looking at such boards as Mylex, Orchid, Cache, though welcome alternative positive recommendations. Please email responses. Forgive this new member of the newsgroup if the question has been posed before (I'd be surprised if it hadn't!). If someone has a summary, please email. Thanks.
