[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Looking for ATM-like solutions for non-PostScript printers

davidd@ttidcb.tti.com (David Dantowitz) (07/03/90)

This may have been covered before. If so, just send me mail, let's
not waste more net bandwidth.

My subject above sums things up pretty well.

Why do you want banking (ATM) terminals involved with PostScript? :-)

Sorry if the last note was cryptic. For non-Mac users, ATM (Adobe
Type Manager) scales Type 1 PostScript fonts for use on non-PostScript
devices (e.g., the Mac screen, HP DeskWriter, and ImageWriter).

I'd like to find out about PC programs to scale type faces and avoid
jagged edges (especially for printers, but not necessarily on the
screen).

Ideally, such a program would not require large amounts of memory, and
could possibly run on a floppy-only system.
