Sometimes I have the need to edit documents on a Macintosh using
Microsoft Word. I'd like to be able to transfer these documents to my
laptop PC preserving formattting and style information, edit them, and
transfer them back to the Mac to add pictures and print.
I know that Macintosh Word can pretty much interchange files with PC
Word, but I was wondering how well Microsoft Works would do for my
intended application. I also have need for a spreadsheet every now
and then, and it would be nice to get them both in one package. I
also don't need the full power of Word.
So the question is: How well does MS Works interchange files with MS
Word? I would expect Word to be able to import Works files no
problem, but Works to choke on files that exercise some of Word's more
powerful features. Am I correct?
thanks,

Microsoft sells (cheaply) a disk containing conversion utilities and printer configurations for Microsoft Works. Call their toll-free number and ask. I think the disk is like $5 for registered Works users. Scott Convex Computer Corporation 3000 Waterview Pkwy. Richardson, TX 75083 ..uunet.uu.net!convex.com!macphee
