I read one of the John Gardner 'Bond' books, I thought he should go back to grade school and stop bothering those of us who like Bond. I don't remembet the title right now, but it was the one with Scotsman bombing Nuke power plants. TWICE in this misplotted volume of drivel Gardner has Bond carfully survey the area for bad guys and in the next sentence baddies appear out of no where, within two feet of Bond. One time this happens in an empty post office about 20 feet from the door. DON"T BUY THE GARDNER BOND BOOKS! Robert Markham wrote a Bond book "Colonel Sun", which is fine, as far as I can recall.

"Colonel Sun" is by Kingsley Amis. The first John Gardner book is "Licence Renewed"; there's a second, but I don't know what it's called. steve hull decvax!utzoo!utcsrgv!tugs
