I just replaced the 360K B: drive in my original, genuine IBM AT with a
3.5", 1.44 Mbyte drive. Note this is the ORIGINAL AT - 6 Mhz, 20 Mbyte
hard disk, old keyboard, etc.
I've put the following into CONFIG.SYS:
devparam=^A/d:1 /s:18
However, the drive will only read and write 720K diskettes. It won't
format or recognize previously formatted diskettes at 1.44 Mbyte.
What's wrong, and what do I do to fix it?
Rumor has it it's a bios that won't support this capacity. For what it's
worth.
