I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. One serious bug with 4DOS 3.00 I found involves the use of APPEND. I KNOW that they admit that it doesn't work but they also give a way to get around it: alias append command /c append which loads in COMMAND.COM, sets append and then returns. This works except for one bizarre side-effect: You are no longer able to copy any files with the same name as any files in a directory on the append list. 4DOS claims the file has been copied but it never shows up. This is especially annoying when you use 'move' and the originalgets erased.
