I purchased a monochrome monitor for the purpose of being able to debug GEM software under MSC 6.0 & Codeview. I haven't been able to do it yet. What is the configuration/setup and steps to initate a Codeview/GEM debugging session? I have a 4M 386 with a VGA and now a monochrome adapter as well. I get the initial Codeview display on the monochrome adapter, but the updates of the monochrome screen are corrupted, with reverse video sections left on, and other garbage. And, I get nothing on the VGA. I'd appreciate it if someone who has succeeded at this would outline the sequence of steps and flags necessary to get this setup working. -- * George R. What the graphics engineers here do is:
Use a hercules screen driver and use the VGA as the Turbo Debugger (in
your case Codeview) output display. This allows the debugger to take
advantage of the 80x50 or 80x43 line text modes while debugging while
maintaining a correct graphic display on your hercules adapter.
NOTE: I no longer work for the graphics.
