Hello.. Does anybody has experience with Micropolis 1654-7 ESDI drives w/ WD 1007 (I think) controller?? I'm trying to format this drive on a 386/25 with a DTK bios, but I don't think the controller is handling 1249 cylinders very well. I'm using the user define drive type option that specifies 1249 cylinders, 36 sectors per track, 1249 write precom, and 1249 landing zone. Everytime I try to low level format using the built-in program, it'd start at the 1249th cylinder, jump to something like 24 and then proceed to tell me that there are only 24 cylinders available.... Specifying 1024 cylinders allows me to low level format, but the machine chokes on fdisk. Any ideas?? -- it1@ra.msstate.edu Mississippi State University
