Could someone explain to me what the Lotus-Intel-Microsoft memory expansion standard is? If I'm not mistaken, it consists of I/O ports located on memory cards which are used as page registers to allow addressing a large amount of memory from a small-address bus. Is this standard strictly applicable to XT-clones, or is it also used on the AT? Is a specification document available? Is it only used to remap the XT's 1M address space, or can it deal with the larger AT address space? What is the size of the remappable window?
