I have finally figured out these articles where they claim that David Niven played the first Bond. HE DID NOT! The first Bond was Barry Nelson (yes, I spelled it right). He starred in a made for CBS movie called "Casio Royale". It seems a few years later, probably after Dr. No and From Russia with Love, another movie was made as a spoof on Casino Royale called "Casino Royale". This comical version starred, you got it, David Niven along with Woody Allen, Peter Sellers. FINALLY, the truth rings out from the net!! Patrick A. Fargo BTL -IH x5324

No doubt, the "Casio Royale" James Bond movie was the one in which he brought a pocket calculator into the casino. :-)

"Casino Royale", the Bond spoof was just on Chicago PBS (WTTW) a couple of nights ago. Sir James was played by David Niven, Woody Allen played Jimmie Bond. Jeff "Bring back Connery" Johnson
