Two questions :
I have a Brother HR-15 XL printer, which I've been using with a serial port
so far. I'd like to use a parallel printer cable with it. Are there any
gotcha's in attaching a parallel printer cable between a stock XT clone
and the Brother ? (I spent a whole afternoon figuring out the serial
connection). Can I just buy a garden-variety interface cable (one side DB25
one side Centronics), and will it work without modification ?
On communications packages such as Procomm. I've been using Procomm for a
few days now. What do you think of Procomm Plus (sells for $50). I'd like
recommendations on comm packages in the < $100 range. Primary requirements
are : easy scripts, flexible telephone directory, support hardware MNP-5
modems, and have good VT-200 emulation. VT-200 emulation is important; I
realize the difficulties of trying to map the pc keyboard to the LK201,
but it must do a reasonable job. Color support is not necessary. Pointers
to any recent magazine reviews, comparing comm packages, will also
be appreciated.
Please email responses; I'll summarize.
Thanks, / Jon Sreekanth
