My friend is having some problems since he installed Windows 3.0. He also has Word 5.0, and it was working fine until windows came around. Once windows was installed, Word (and the whole computer) would crash if you called it from the dos prompt. If you go into windows, and then call Word, it would work fine. If you called the DOS prompt from windows and went into Word, it worked fine. He tried taking things out of his CONFIG.SYS file, and removal of the 768K SmartDrive fixed it. Is there some way around this problem? What are the consequences of removing the SmartDrive? Roger Rouse
