We are having a problem in our building.. one of our staff decided to bring their Tandy DMP 130 dot matrix printer in to hook up to a Toshiba T1000 laptop.. they bought a standard paralell cable at Radio Shack for $40 (?!) but it is not working. When there is no cable plugged into the printer it starts up and goes online fine, but with the cable plugged in it won't even go online. We also tried using another verified working cable with the same problem. Apparently the printer works fine with a Tandy computer. There is a DIP switch on the back to switch between "IBM PC" and "Tandy" modes, but this doesn't help. I tried calling those wonderful technology experts at Tandy but they were about as helping as asking a goldfish. As usual. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
